From Writer to Strategist: The Shift Nobody Prepares You For

  On what really changes when you stop just creating content — and start owning the thinking behind it. There was a moment early in my career when I handed in a piece of content I was genuinely proud of. Good structure. Clean writing. Every word intentional. My manager looked at it and asked: "But what is this content trying to achieve?" I didn't have a great answer. And that question — that single question — changed the entire trajectory of how I think about content. I had been a writer. A good one. But I hadn't yet become a strategist. That shift took years. And nobody — no course, no job description, no mentor — fully prepared me for what it actually involved.
